DAY 2: Commit to Staying on the Right Path
I don’t know about you, but when I have a really big task ahead of me, I procrastinate to tackle it. Some tasks can be overwhelming. And, if I feel like there is no way I can accomplish it, I might not even attempt it.
How stupid is that? Isn’t it better to do something than nothing? Well, it surely is with health and fitness. Even if you don’t lose the weight as fast as you want to, or you aren’t eating healthy every single day, every attempt to eat right and exercise is better than no attempt at all.
Even if you have a substantial amount of weight you need to get off, don’t settle for staying on the wrong path just because you already feel defeated. Be a fighter. Just because the path is difficult, we can’t avoid the path altogether. Some of my best experiences required a long narrow tough path.
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” – Matthew 7:13-14
I remember having to climb several hundred steps to see a beautiful waterfall. My calves were sore for days, but it was so worth it. That is just a small example of what life often requires of us. Don’t miss out on some of the best experiences in life because it’s too hard to get there. The neat thing about that long stairclimb hike was (although I was tired and winded), I enjoyed the view at every level. I took so many pictures along the way and there was a new discovery at every corner.
Be encouraged!! You can stay on the road to nowhere or you can commit to taking the long road, but celebrate because it’s the right one – and every step you take, you get closer to your destination!
Lastly, the wrong road may be easier, but it is equally painful – just in different ways. We can suffer the pain of change, or suffer remaining the same.
“No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening–it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.” Hebrews 12:10
If you have decided you are going to get on the right path, you’re already a winner, on the path to a healthier you!

I’m so glad I found this! I started reading yesterday and it’s helped to get moving for those early morning gym times! I can do all things through Christ!
