Product Review: GenetixHD – Ignite, Sculpt & Burn!

A week ago I started GNC’s GenetixHD. Now I have to tell ya, I am not very good at taking supplements. Fat burners make me freak out and I’m awful at remembering to take pills. So, with that said, let me tell you what I’m attempting.

Lucky for me, the women’s line body sculpting line only has 3 products. A META-IGNITE™ (a thermogenic) Pro-Sculpt (pre-workout drink) and a Physio Burn Stimulant Free (Metabolic Amplifier Complex) which you take with your largest meal.

Getting in the Fat Burning Groove
So I don’t forget to take my pills, I placed the Physio-Burn right next to my bathroom sink. Since my biggest meal is normally my dinner, I remember to take it when I brush my teeth and take out my contacts after dinner. As for the Meta-Ignite, that stays at work on my desk. I normally take that around lunch time since I drink coffee in the morning and didn’t want to risk freaking my little poor heart out. 🙂

The last item to attend to was the pre-workout drink. This one was a challenge for me since I don’t normally like pre-workout drinks. They normally taste horrible, but this one wasn’t bad at all. I started with just half a scoop. After I had that with no negative side-effects, I gradually increased my serving. It didn’t freak me out like NO Explode and some others. I felt energized, and besides feeling just a slight bit of flushing, I felt great.

Bad Bonnie
I think I became accustomed to the added energy, because I skipped a few days this weekend and BAM! No energy and I felt yucky. OK, I admit, it probably had to do with my crappy workouts and poor diet because we were slammed getting ready for a boot camp, but then I realized I had slacked on my GenetixHD.

I started back yesterday and I already feel SOOOO much better today. Bottom line, I think this is great for someone who may struggle with energy and the drive to get to the gym. Once you begin getting the results, the results will keep you going after that, but I do believe this is going to be a great kick start for my new workout program!

I’ll continue on this system and keep you posted on how I do and how I feel. All in all – So far, so Good! Definitely suggest it!

I don’t notice any effects of the Meta Ignite — should I start pairing it with other things? I literally yawn through my workouts when I take it 🙁

how long before my orkout should i take it 1-5-30 mins? is this for women only btw? and would it really help me burn fat, I’m trying to decrease my body fat percentage. pro scult btw

Hi, I work out when I wake up, so I was wondering how I should stagger the use of the 3 supplements. Sometimes I work out twice so I can take the pro sculpt before the morning work out and the meta ignite before my afternoon workout, but if I just work out when I wake up what is your recommendation?

    Hi Bonnie,
I thought you mentioned that you take Physio burn at night? Can you list when you take each of the 3 hours and workout schedule. I work out in the morning and wondering when best to take the products. Thank you so much.

Hi Bonnie! I’m back again. I found your blog a few months ago when I was researching Physio-burn when it was recommended to me by a GNC salesperson. I must say, I started out well with getting back in better shape (as always), but I started to slack when I had to divide my time between work, kids, family, and graduate school. By the time April rolled around, I had to buckle down on my last class, and by early June, I finally finished up and earned by MBA. Now, I am ready to get back on track, and going back to the gym (which I joined in March), and starting back with the Physio-burn. My question is, has anyone really seen good results with the product? Initially, I think that it was helping somewhat, but I’m not certain if it was giving me added results other than going to gym, and modifying my diet, and getting my cardio using the equipment. Thanks!

Supplements are intended to enhance what you do. They aren’t miracle workers of course, but YES, if you are training hard and managing your calories/food, then these supplements can definitely take you to the next level. Supplements like PhysioBurn & MetaIgnite are great for boosting your metabolism and energy to give you the edge you need to keep showing up for your workouts. Preworkout drinks are great for boosting oomph in the gym, making workouts more intense, etc., but if you blow all your hard work in the gym on poor eating (or even overeating healthy stuff), you will never really enjoy the reward of your labor 😉

Does taking the Physio Burn in the evening disturb your sleep at all? I think it has caffeine in the ingredients.

    • Bonnie Pfiester

I take it when I wake up, so I’m not sure. However, I have people that take PhysioSculpt right before their evening workout and do fine so I think it’s really up to the individual and how sensitive you are to caffeine, etc

Hello…I was just wondering, is it safe to take all three of these products along with a Shakeology as a meal replacement? I wanted to use the Shakeology as a replacement for breakfast, ProScult first thing in the morning, Physio-burn before dinner, and Meta-ignite before workouts. Would that be okay?

    Hello,
I just wanted to know if any of the 3 products gives that jittery or heart racing feeling. I ask because some times when I am stressed my heart has abnormal palpitations. My doctor tells me the same thing… that is stress related but these things can be scary some times. I try not to take anything that I don’t have to, but I am 180 pounds and only 5ft 3in tall. I can’t live my life fat like this any more. PLEASE HELP thank you

    • Bonnie Pfiester

Valerie, I’m sorry I missed your post so long ago! I have heart palpatations myself so I have to worry about that too. I still take them and none of them bother me but I always suggest taking half the dose and seeing how it feels, then slowly moving up to full does. I would think the PhysioBurn would be the safest, then try a little of the meta-ignite. The ProSculpt may be the one I would skip. Pre workout drinks often can make you feel uncomfortable.

I have been taking the Meta-ignite for about a month now and I also have been taking birth control for over 5 years. I always get my period during the last week of pills like normal, but I didn’t get it at all this month. I just wasn’t sure if Meta-ignite would have an affect like that.

    Thank you!

That’s a great question. I’ve never heard of a supplement like that affecting it, but I’m no doctor. Join us tonight for a Twitter Chat: April 4th, 2012, 8:00pm EST. Hashtag: #genetixHD – great way to get more answers!!!

It would likely rev your metabolism some, but not sure how much noticeable difference you would see without exercise. You definitely get more bang for you buck with both. Join us tonight for a Twitter Chat: April 4th, 2012, 8:00pm EST. Hashtag: #genetixHD – great way to get more answers!!!

Hi everyone. I am 20 years old, 5’6 and 165 pounds. I just recently bought the GNC GenetixHD™ Pro-Sculpt and started it today actually. Worked out for an hour. Did 20-25 minutes of cardio and continued the rest on arms/abs/legs/thighs/butt. I was wondering if I should be doing more or if I should be doing less? It would be great to know! Thanks !!!

    • Bonnie Pfiester

In my opinion, cardio should be a minimum 30 minutes to really start burning fat. (typically the first few minutes are burning up stored food). The biggest thing to remember is that we look more like what we EAT than what we DO. 🙂 Join us tonight for a Twitter Chat: April 4th, 2012, 8:00pm EST. Since I take all 3, it’s hard to say. From what I can see and feel, the Physio-burn offers a mild boost in my metabolism and seems to help my fat loss, while the Meta-Ignite and the Pro-Sculpt have more of a noticeable instant energy effect. I wouldn’t expect a HUGE difference with using the Physio-Burn alone, but it definitely would think it would be helpful – just not a very noticeable help. Diet is definitely key – then supplements. 🙂

Thanks Bonnie for your speedy reply! And I also hate taking any kind of supplements, even vitamins or aspirin! 🙂 I guess my biggest crutch now are the carbs because they seem to be the staple of our diets: sandwiches, pastas for dinner, etc.,..they seem to be in everything! I’m also so busy, that I forget to eat breakfast a lot, and I probably eat the wrong things when I get hungry at work. Portion size has never been an issue; it’s just that the type and variety of foods that are good for maintaining weight loss that have me in a tizzy – it’s almost impossible to figure out what’s good and what’s not. I just finished watching a few of your videos, and I saw where you were talking about calorie intake. I do well with managing that, because its the way I normally eat. I do like sweets, but I’ve always eaten very healthy otherwise (no white bread, I don’t eat red meat or pork, and I’ve always liked drinking plenty of water.). That’s why having to loose the weight now has been a struggle for me because all of the things that we’re supposed to do, I already do. I’ve never been a big eater; and along with getting older, having kids, and stress, my weight has just seemed to come out of nowhere, and now I’m struggling with how to get it off.

    Hi Bonnie,

I was watching a recent Dr. Oz episode where he talked about 4 supplements for working on loosing weight in your mid-section. I stopped in a local GNC store, and the salesperson suggested a few other products and did not recommend the products from the show, but I “poo-poo-ed” them. He then suggested Physio-burn which seemed to be more of what I was looking for. I am an ex-athlete – gymnast, track, tennis, soccer, cheerleading, dancer, so I know the value of exercise and being fit. I have 4 children, the last 2 are twins. Over the last few years, I have seen weight gain, and my workouts have been sporadic to non-existent due to the challenges and stress of marriage, working full-time, being in graduate school, and attending events of my 4 very active and athletic children. I know that I have to get back to a regiment of exercise, at least 3x a week, and focus on my diet as well. I told the salesperson that I need a little “extra help”, (without an chemicals or unnatural products that would make me jittery) to get me back on track with my efforts. The Physio-burn seemed to be a product that would work for me. Mind you, I have never taken any supplements before, I have always just lost the weight, or did light to moderate workouts to get back and stay in shape. Now, the weight is coming on and not going off as before, and I realize it’s time to get serious and on some kind of program that I can commit to. I would like to know how Physio-Burn is working for you, and if it is a product that you recommend. I started it today (3-5-12).

    Thanks in advance!
